ATTENTION PARTICIPANTS
The Housing Authority of the City of New Smyrna Beach is moving into the next phase of the Move To Work Supplement plan.This phase will include mandatory enrollment in the Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) program if you are not currently employed for 20+ hours a week. This phase will also include a working requirement for all able-bodied adult members of each household.
To be EXEMPT from working, you must meet one of the following requirements:
If you do not meet these requirements,
you will be REQUIRED to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
If you currently HAVE a job and work at least 20 hours a week, you have met this requirement. Do not procced.
If you currently DON'T have a job, you will have until June 1, 2024 to secure employment.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A JOB STARTING JANUARY 1, 2024,
you will be required to submit proof to our FSS Coordinator to verify that you have been applying for jobs.

If you do not meet these requirements by June 1, 2024,
you could potentially lose your voucher or public housing.
What Is Considered a Valid Work Search?
NSBHA has two options that are acceptable and defined as a valid work search. Your options are listed below.
OPTION 1: Any electronic job search website and/or App that shows a listing of jobs you've applied for.

You should contact June Anderson, our Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator, to schedule an appointment to submit your documentation for your work search on a monthly basis. This can be done by appointment only.
