Welcome to the Public Housing page. Started in 1950, the New Smyrna Beach Housing Authority (NSBHA) provides 126 Public Housing in the City of New Smyrna Beach, Florida to its residents that qualify as low income. Families, seniors and handicapped live in NSBHA maintained units at a very reasonable price because of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding.
There are four Unit Areas:
Greenlawn Terrace with playground
Live Oaks Homes with playground
Enterprise Homes with playground
The Housing Authority assists residents with information on transportation, education, employment, and medical needs. The City Wide Resident Council provides programs and services to our residents. An assortment of not-for-profit agencies like Halifax Urban Ministries (food assistance) and Score (New Business Start up information) and others help the residents in their endeavors in life as well advance their goals.
The Housing Authority does "not" provide emergency housing. But those needing this help are urged to contact the agencies in the area that do.
